The Rising Star Calf Show was held at Thainstone Centre on Monday evening with a top-quality show of calves forward with Tony & Sophie Weir crowned the Overall Champion.

Judge Ron MacKay of Clyth Mains, Occumster, Lybster awarded Tony & Sophie Weir from c/o Lettoch, Glenlivet, Ballindalloch the Overall Championship, taking home The Gordon Reid Perpetual Trophy for JoJo, a March-born Limousin Cross Heifer bred by Balfour Baillie Sebay View Tankerness which was purchased at the Thainstone Spectacular earlier in the year.

The Young Farmers Champion award went to February-born Charolais Cross Heifer from Bruce Forbes, Little Kildrummie, Nairn.

Tim McDonald, Prime Cull Cattle Manager at Aberdeen & Northern Marts, said:
