A selection of pedigree heifer featured in a special sale at the Aberdeen Christmas Classic event at Thainstone Centre this week.
The special sale is the first of its kind to feature at the annual event, which is supported by main sponsor Rapid Project Development (RPD) and saw a total of six pedigree heifer, including Charolais and Limousins sell on to new owners.
R & N Barclay from Harestone Farm, Crathes, Banchory sold three Charolais heifers at the sale. Included was Harestone Sundance a December 2021 born, in calf heifer which went on to sell for 3,200gns to William Law, West Cruichie, Drumblade. Harestone Sundance was sired by Goldies Oasis to Harestone Merry.
Also achieving 3,200gns for the Barclay family was another December 2021 born, in calf heifer. Harestone Spice Girl was sired by Harestone Nano to Harestone Janville and sold to Christopher Abernethy Belvedere Middleton of Potterton.
Harestone Solo, a November 2021 born, in calf heifer from the Barclay herd sold to the price of 3,000gns to A Matheson, Park View, Auckengill, Wick. This heifer was sired by Nestor to Harestone Primrose.
Two pedigree heifers from A G Howie, West Knock Farm, Mintlaw, Peterhead were also forward for the sale, including Knock Sara a December 2021 born heifer which sold for 2,500gns, selling to W F Cruickshank, Clury farm, Dulnain Bridge, Grantown-on-Spey. Knock Sara was sired by Wilodge Ninja to Kock Orla.
Knock Sienna a December 2021 born heifer also from A G Howie and was sired by Goldies Politician to Knock Pink, sold to I & G Urquhar, 65 Pennan Road, Ellon for 2,500gns.
Finally, a December 2021 born heifer, Knock Sassy from the Howie herd achieved the price of 2,500gns and sold to A T Wilson & Co, from Brownhill of Annoch, Auchnagatt. This heifer was sired by Wilodge Ninja to Knock Netflicks.
