Fodderletter dominates Rising Stars for second year running

W Robertson & Son, Fodderletter, Tomintouldominated the Rising Stars Calf Show that took place at Thainstone Centre on Monday evening for the second year running.

Judged by Wilson Peters, Cuilt Farmhouse, Monzie, the champion was a February-born Limousin Cross Bullock by Beaumont Pacman, out of a British Blue cross dam and half-brother to last year’s Rising Star Champion from the same family.

Overall Champion – Lot 11 from W Roberson & Son, Fodderletter, Tomintoul

The Young Farmers’ champion award went to Finlay Hunter, Wester Cairnhill, Culsalmond, Insch, with a homebred, June-born, Limousin cross bullock by Johnston Premier.

Tim McDonald, Prime and Cull Cattle Manager at Aberdeen & Northern Marts said: “It was great to witness a top-quality show of calves at Thainstone this evening and its encouraging to see the next generation taking part in the competition.
