Caithness Christmas Show attracts 92 entries

The annual Caithness Christmas Show and Sale will kick off with the judging of all sections on Monday the 2nd December at 6:45pm, with the sale to commence on Tuesday 3rd December at 9:45am.

Blair Duffton, 2 Bogie Street, Huntly is set to judge the Open and Young Farmers Prime Cattle section, which has attracted 20 entries and kindly sponsored by NFU Mutual, Thurso and Dingwall.

The Baby Beef Competition, sponsored by Vauldale Engineering has attracted 12 entries that will be judged by Mark Munro, Invercharron, Ardgay.

This year’s Prime Lamb sections will be judged by Scott McRobbie, Woodhead Brothers, Turriff. The open pairs of Prime Lambs section has 28 entries and is kindly sponsored by Fiona and Cath of the Home Bakery, Wick, while Duncan & Todd Wick is kindly sponsoring the Young Farmers pairs of Prime Lambs section which has attracted 22 entries. The Pen of 10 Untrimmed Lambs which has 10 entries, is sponsored Mr Wullie Gulloch and will be judged by Hugh McRae, Shethin Farm, Tarves, Ellon.

Special prizes have been sponsored by Thurso Tool Hire for the Best Dressed Prime Lambs in the Open and Young Farmers section, with Mr D A Manson sponsoring a prize for each Young Farmers Championship.

Tuesday’s sale has attracted over 100 Store Cattle, 1,700 Store Lambs, 1,500 Prime Lambs and 500 Feeding Ewes & Rams.
